Actress Mila Kunis has showcased the hairstyle of the season, the ‘cool mom bob’. The choppy mid-length look is a classic, although this new version is “a little more disheveled and bohemian and has just the right amount of attitude” according to MLD Creative Director Leon Gorman who says the great news is it’s a style that suits all hair textures and face shapes.

Beauty update:  lauren hutton model of the moment

At 73, Lauren Hutton has proved that beauty is truly ageless. Currently hot in demand on the catwalk, on the cover of Italian Vogue and in her underwear for Calvin Klein, MLD’s resident hair guru Leon Gorman recently worked his magic on Hutton’s hair for a British magazine. “Lauren is truly amazing and she’s everywhere right now.  I created these sexy relaxed curls by diffusing her hair with a lot of Kerastase curl mousse until it was dry. Then we used a large brush to smooth the ends, created the waves with 2 inch barrel tongs and then set them with Kerastase K Laque.  After Lauren’s make up was done we brushed out the curl and finished with our hands to give the look separation and definition.

New York designer Kate Spade has released a new book ‘She: Muses, Visionaries and Madcap Heroines’, which is rather perfect timing, in celebration of inspirational boundary pushing (read bad ass) women like Gloria Steinem, Dolly Parton, Nina Simone and Sarah Jessica Parker.  Long live female empowerment.
